Reactive Rover

Reactive Rover Class

*This is a full enrollment working spot with you and your dog.*

Does your dog lunge, bark, and act upon leash when he or she sees other dogs? This class is for dogs that get upset at the sight of other dogs and will teach you how to safely handle and manage your leash reactive dog. Reactive Rover teaches skills that make it easier to walk and live with your dog. You will also gain a deeper understanding of why he or she reacts, and how to coach your dog to better behavior on leash.

Please note: Week 1 is an open public lecture that starts at 2:30pm. To participate in this class, you must attend all six weeks as every week builds on the last. Please check your schedule before signing up.

The appropriate dog for this class is one that is not dog or stranger aggressive. If you are not sure about your dog's behavior, please call Wendi at (831) 264-5442 before enrolling to let us know what difficulties you are having with your dog. We want to make sure that this class will help you and your dog be as successful as possible!

Handlers must attend the Reactive Rover Seminar (humans only) before attending this class.

Please bring proof of vaccinations the first week of class.

Equipment

We recommend at minimum a flat or martingale collar with a 6-foot leash. Sometimes we will suggest the addition of head halters or front hook harnesses, If you need a harness we can sell you one after class. Please, no choke or pinch collars or retractable leashes. We have found that good training with comfortable, non-aversive equipment will enable your dog to perform consistently better!
